We only have a few more weeks of summer here. The weather has already entered the dry autumn pattern. After a rainy June and July, August has been dry, warm, and windy. Maggie starts 1st grade in a week and Bea is currently on her two-week hiatus from preschool.
We have been finding ways to stay busy, including old reliables like the mall:
Bea is also big enough now that she doesn't need constant interaction with a parent while she is playing.
We took a trip to Meadowbrook park and went around the nature trail in order to see what sort of wildflowers were growing. We ended up finding so much more, including a lot of different butterflies.
We also found some low-hanging walnut branches and were able to snag a few before they fell.
Finally, we found some blackberry bushes along the trail. Bea ensured that all of the ripe ones found their way to her mouth.
