The American Pasttime

As mentioned in the last post, we headed out to Columbia, MO., in order to see LSU play some baseball.

I wasn't quite sure if BB would be too in to the game, but then I remembered that, along with baseball, comes popcorn and snacks.

Maggie, of course, has been to LSU games before, so she knew what a fun time she was in for.

In the 7th inning or so, she was getting a little restless, so we headed down to the right field line to watch the game from field level.  After hanging out for a couple of minutes, the LSU right fielder (Antoine Duplantis) hit a foul ball our way that the Missouri RF graciously flipped over to us.  Maggie was excited because she got a baseball.  I was excited because Duplantis is probably the best hitter on the team.

All, in all, we had a great time.  It will be hard to see LSU play after we move to Montreal, but if LSU makes it to the College World Series, I'll probably find a way to go and see them.

Rock Bridge State Park and Columbia, MO

We took a little trip to Columbia, MO, in order to see LSU play a baseball game.  While there, we took in some other sites including Rock Bridge State Park.  It is still early spring here and most trees have not yet put out leaves.  But the weather was nice, so we took a morning hike along Gans Creek.

BB was very excited about her bouquet.

After about a 45 min walk, we made it down to the creek.

We found a few fossils - Maggie knows how to find them.

The girls had plenty of energy for the walk back - especially Bea (since she spent about half of the hike on my shoulders).

We also paid a visit to Going Bonkers - a Chuck-E-Cheese-esque establishment with a huge indoor playscape that the kids loved.

We capped one evening off at a not-so-good Mexican restaurant.  The girls didn't mind, though.
