Preggy Pics

This past week my friend Jessica and I went downtown and took some pictures of my  belly. Here are some of my favorite. Just a reminder at the time I was 37.5 weeks pregnant.

Our 1st anniversary update

Today was fun and relaxing. Chris and I got up late and read a little. Then we decided to catch the new star trek at the alamo drafthouse. Love the new kirk :) 

Then we made our way down to pappadeauxs for an early dinner in order to beat the rush. We ended up leaving with enough leftovers for three dinners. After stuffing ourselves we decided we needed to take a walk to work off all the (yummy) food we ate. Once we were done walking we went straight to the cake :{

Okay, when I say cake I am referring to our wedding cake from a year ago. I think it tastes like the wedding day and Chris said it was just okay. I am pretty sure we froze it right so I think it is just Chris. In all fairness to the cake Chris was not very fond of italian creme cake (even if its fresh).

Afterwards we washed down the cake by toasting with water and the 'finest' beer.

One Year Anniversary

It's our anniversary weekend. It will also be our only anniversary without any whining brats around :) so we will try and enjoy the quietness of it.

In store for our celebration will be a night at the movies to see the new star trek movie and, of course, Pappadeauxs. Hold on...I need to wipe the drool off my face from thinking about all that fried seafood :)

In the case you are dense and not very observant, basically, deauxbaby is saying fuck off (in a cuter baby way). Look closely at the cookie :)

Jacks 30th Burfday

I average about two weeks to a month to update my blog. So I want everyone to be impressed that I am posting this only a week later.

So the the day was as nice as it can be for sitting in an all day baby prep class, but alas the fun started at night. Chris and I headed over to Jack's early 30th birthday party. Being responsible adults we made an investment for him. Since they are new parents they know how much diapers cost so we went ahead and got Jack adult diapers (over 30 = incontinence problem) to offset the financial responsibility. Good thing we did because there would of been lots and lots of 'accidents.' 

My husband is trying to getting potty trained, but I did inform him once he pulls down the diaper he has to be sitting on the toilet and NOT a glider. Thankfully he did not make a mess like Jack was doing all night (spilling his choice of drink all over himself). Anyways it was a fun night.

week 32 and 35 pregnancy pictures

Now that I am in week 35 I am starting to be uncomfortable when I sleep, but other than that I am doing fine. In two weeks if I go into labor the medical profession will not intervene with the delivery (meaning they will not attempt to stop labor by medication). I think Chris and I are almost ready. Still need to get car seat and mattress for crib. This upcoming Saturday we are also going to our birthing classes. So if I go into labor before that I guess I'll just huff and puff 'til deauxbaby comes out :{

In week 35 pic I received that t shirt from my friend Wendy at my 2nd baby shower. In case you can not read it it says "Future Tiger" with an arrow pointing at deauxbaby. I'll post more about that baby shower as soon as I get my hands on some pictures. But here is an early thanks to Roxanne/Jack for organizing it with some help from Jessica/Mike.

ps I inherited my closed eyes from either my mom and dad (they both have squinty eyes)...hopefully deauxbaby has wide eyes, but not too wide that they look like bug eyes....somewhere in between squinty and bug eyes :) 

My first baby shower

My parents threw me (okay and Chris) a baby shower a couple of weekends ago. My family and moms friends were very generous. So a big thank you to my parents and all the guests. It was nice to see everyone. 

Here I am near all the cakes. I prefer the edible cakes opposed to the diaper cake :) 

Both cakes were so yummy I think I ate about half of each by myself (the baby helped as well).

Memories

My grandfather passed away at the end on May and when I went to the funeral many pictures of him were getting passed around. So I'll put my favorite pictures of him on the blog. He was quite a character and the pictures will never fully tell you the whole story b/c you had to know him personally.

My grandfather was a boxer is his younger years. He still held his title belt through the years. HAHAHA 

Here is a picture of him and grandma lalo on the their wedding day followed by 54 years later.

The next few pics are from my wedding last year. All I remember from that night about him was that he stayed on the dance floor the entire night :)
