More Fall Videos!!!!

We just can't get enough of the nice fall weather in Illinois.  We just had a friend take some nice pictures.  Once they're ready, we'll be sure to post them.

Finally, I think Bea may soon have a burgeoning career on Broadway.  See for yourself...

I'm headed off to elk hunt with uncle Steve, dad and Scott in a few days.  Hopefully, the elk have reason to venture onto Steve's serene pastures.  I'll be sure to get some pictures.

New nightgowns for Maggie-Frozen

I'm sure everyone has heard of the new Disney movie Frozen by now. We recently received two nightgowns from Honey. The first is an Elsa inspired gown. Unfortunately, you can't see much of it because Maggie has been falling asleep before Bea lately. Here she is passed out in the living room.

Let's not forget about the Anna pajamas. For this nightgown we decided to purchase a few accessories.

Some nice fall pictures

Hopefully, this will be our last fall in Illinois - not because we dislike the fall here, but because I hope that by this time next year, I will be a professor somewhere.  The fall colors will hit their peak over the next couple of weeks and I'll try to snap a few pictures along the way.  Here's Maggie standing under a nice maple tree in our local Hessel Park.

Here's a few pictures from around the neighborhood.

Here's Bea during a rare moment on the car ride home from day care when she is not crying.

Last, but not least: here's what Maggie thought of her first cup of coffee milk.

Winter sickness begins in the Fall

About a month ago Bea came down with a fever that lasted the entire day. When we were home she just sat (no tv was on) in her chair and looked miserable. Every once in a while a whine or moan would come form her direction. She also refused to eat.
Finally, she managed to take a nap about 30 min before we had to pick up Maggie from school. So of course I tried to transfer her to a stroller without waking her up, but that failed.
Got her back to sleep when we came home.
At least Maggie was in bright spirits (at least after opening a new package. Elsa and Olaf winter hats.

It's Fall!!!

Bea being Bea. She loves throwing herself on the floor. After a couple of head bumps she now carefully puts herself on the floor and then proceeds to whine.

Autumn

Sorry again for the delayed posting, but I've been busy getting job applications together. There are a lot of assistant professor jobs opening up around the country at some pretty good schools, so hopefully I'll get a few interviews (assuming of course, that people are interested in the kinetic properties of complex, natural product biosynthetic enzyme systems). So far, there are a few jobs in Texas that look promising (Texas A&M, UT Austin, Rice, and the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas), so hopefully I'll get a bite from one of those schools. It would be really nice to move closer to family and to have a real job for the first time in my life. I'll make sure to keep everyone posted.

Meanwhile, me and the gals have been enjoying the nice fall weather. Fall colors will be reaching their peaks in the next couple of weeks and the weather is starting to get really enjoyable. Maggie is doing great in Kindergarten. She really loves her teacher, her class and her class mates and she has adjusted really well. Bea is now in the toddler class and she says dada, mama, more, all done (and several other phrases related to the consumption of food). Here are few recent pictures and videos.

I have a lot more that I need to update and, now that I have my job application pretty much finished, I'll try to be more diligent with the updates. In the mean time, I hope you all are doing well.
