Hey everyone. Sorry for not keeping up with the blog. We have been settling in to our new routine up in Illinois. The weather here has been nice. Last week, we set a record low (19 degrees), but this was followed up by record highs (in the mid 70s) all week long. True to form, we woke up Saturday morning to clouds and rain. Oh well, we should still a get a few more weeks before it starts getting really cold. I raked the leaves in the yard this morning - something I have not done since we lived on St. Joseph St. We filled 10 contractor bags to the brim.
We've already posted a few Halloween pictures of Maggie. Here's a video illustrating the true gracefulness of her monarch butterfly costume.
Recently, Maggie has been demanding that we serve her both food and silverware at dinner. We bought a toy kitchen for her and placed it in the real kitchen so that she wouldn't feel left out when Gabby slaves over the stove on the weekends (wink, wink). One of Maggie's favorite past times now is to prepare and serve us with invisible meals, which she usually delivers with silverware on her tiger plates. After eating several truckloads of invisible foods, I guess Maggie decided that silverware could potentially be useful for real food, such as diced carrots:
Life in House Thibodeaux is a well rounded experience, where no stone is left unturned. Here, Maggie demonstrates a portion of her daily physical fitness regimen, which beings at 6 AM with laps up and down the hall, usually involves climbing various objects around the house (including the bookshelf, her activity table and, on occasion, our glass coffee table), and finishes up with hand-eye coordination drills:
I still find it amazing that she gets around as well as she does wearing those tights, which are two sizes too small in the legs and two sizes too big in the waist.
Maggie really likes doing puzzles. We took this one out a couple of weeks ago and within a week, this is how far we have gotten (sorry for the poor lighting):
Maggie and I are currently working on another more challenging project. Perhaps by our next post, I can update you on her progress.
