Mag-E-Rama (Part III)

On Easter morning, after an eventful day at the Indianapolis Children's Museum, Maggie stumbled down the hall with Ernie and her two bunnies in her new Dora Pajamas.

She spent several seconds staring at her Easter basket,

Then began enjoying the chocolate eggs and easter bunny.

The weather forecast indicated that we had several hours before the rain started, so we headed to Weldon Springs State Park - about 25 miles to the east of Champaign. This quaint little park has a nice sized lake with a path that runs all the way around and which is speckled with little docks and fishing piers. This time of year, there were a lot of canadian geese roosting about.

Dad and I brought along the fishing poles and tried our luck with spinners and crank baits, but we didn't catch anything. We had some night crawlers, but we accidentally left them in the fridge, so we were limited to artificials. Maggie also wanted to do a little fishing, so she hung out with us as we tied on our lures and she tried to use the stringer as a necklace.

Even though we didn't catch any fish, we still had a nice day...

...and discovered many hidden treasures in the Illinois countryside.

Here are some nice pictures of Maggie with her grandparents on the lake shore, in the shadows of the apple blossoms.

All-in-all, Gran and Papa had a good visit. We hope they will come back to visit soon maybe in September or October - we actually get a real autumn up here!
